Official rules of the Makarska 2026 handball tournament.
Categories
Boys and girls compete in the 2009/10, 2011/12 and 2013/14 age categories.
Participants
Player identity is established using a valid club card, passport or identity card. The Competition Committee conducts checks before the tournament and may also perform random checks during the tournament or targeted checks following a club complaint.
If a club has two or more teams in the same age category, a player may compete for only one of those teams.
Each team may register one player older than the stated age group, provided the player was born after 1 August of the preceding year.
If an ineligible player competes because of the age limit, the club loses the match by an official score of 0:10. A repeated offence results in disqualification and a two-year tournament ban.

A time-out is available only in the final placement matches for 1st/2nd and 3rd/4th place: one per half, lasting one minute.
The first-named team on the match sheet takes the throw-off and occupies the bench to the left of the officials' table.
Teams do not change ends at half-time.
Matches are played with the organiser's official ball or the first-named team's ball.
Match records
The match sheet is adapted to a tournament with a large number of matches. It records each player's name, goals scored and disciplinary sanctions.
After the match, the sheet is signed by team representatives and the first-listed referee.
Rankings
If a placement match ends level, each team immediately takes three alternating seven-metre throws. If the score remains level, alternating throws continue until a winner is decided.
Disciplina
A player shown a direct red card may play in the next match unless the officials submit a subsequent disciplinary report.
A player shown a blue card may not play in the next match. The Competition Committee decides whether a stricter sanction is required.
A match appeal, excluding appeals against refereeing decisions, must be submitted in writing to the Competition Committee no later than 30 minutes after the match, together with a EUR 50 fee. The tournament Competition Committee decides the appeal.
All other matters are interpreted under Croatian Handball Federation regulations. Players, coaches and clubs are subject to its disciplinary rules, and a foreign club's national federation may be officially notified.
Health
Participants compete at their own responsibility and bear the cost of serious injuries and hospital treatment. The organiser provides all-day medical care at the courts.
